1. Austin Dog Training We started Precision K9 Work because of my passion for dogs. I started by training my own dogs, family and friends who needed help. Later, I started training for a franchised and had the experience to work with over a hundred dogs of different breeds and temperaments from fearful to aggressive. My experiance with dog training over the past 5 years has led me to sell dogs to different agencies and departments within law enforcement. I have been training dogs for basic obedience, agility, IPO (Schutzhund), sports, Police K9, and scent work. I have completed decoy camps and seminars from different trainers and behaviorists. I am also a certified AKC CGC Evaluator. By serving in the Marine Corps for 6 years, I built a foundation of patience and commitment that comes through in my training. I teach that in order to have the most well rounded and obedient dog, no matter what kind of training you are interested in, it requires a balance of various training techniques and full understanding of how a dog thinks. 2. Dog Training Our in home evaluation is a great way to meet the trainer, and allows us to gauge the dogs temperament and personality. By doing this, we can assess and provide recommendations for training. We will also discuss your goals and expectations. An evaluation is not always necessary; however, it is recommended for some dogs. Private training lessons are an hour long, and most will be done in home. WE TRAVEL TO YOU! In home lessons will provide a comfortable learning environment which will allow your dog to accomplish more in the beginning. Lessons will also be conducted at parks to challenge and increase focus in your dog. Want your dog to listen and come when called consistently? If off leash obediecne is something you are looking for, we can help. During our off leash program we will cover all areas of training. Lessons will be done in home or at parks. We make sure to explain how training works, so you and your dog are successful! Don’t have time? We can train your dog for you through our Board & Train program. We understand that obedience training takes time, and with a busy schedule it’s not always easy. Our board and train program is designed just for that. We offer varying lengths of boarding (1-4 weeks) depending on your goals. Although your dog will be trained through the program, it is also important that you understand how to keep up with the training. Clients will receive a private lesson after training has been completed with your dog. Austin Dog Training | Precision K9 Work We have a higher standard when it comes to dog training. 3. Protection Training Almost everyone has a different view about what protection dog training is. It may even be referred to as “guard dog” training by some. One of the first things to understand is not every dog is capable of doing such work. Protective breeds (German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Doberman and Belgian malinois, to name a few) can make good candidates, however not all will possess good genetics for protection training. This is why we evaluate each dog before starting to work with them. Another misconception about protection training is that it will make a mean and aggressive dog. If you have to make a dog mean or aggressive to be protective then it is clearly not the right dog for protection training. There are also different types of protection training. Sports like IPO(schutzhund), PSA, Mondioring are a great way to do protection work with your dog and also compete. Personal protection however is much different and requires a different temperament then most sport dogs have. Private lessons. We offer protection training lessons for sport or personal protection to new or existing clients. Discounted packages are available. Our protection board & train program is aimed at training dogs for your specific needs. We understand that everyone has different goals, which is why we evaluate each dog first. Precision K9 Protection Club During our Protection Club meetings we work on building drive, focus, and bite development associated with Mondioring, IPO (previously Schutzhund), PSA, French ring, Police k9, and PPD. This club is not meant to be focused on a certain sport, but rather customized to each handler for whichever discipline they are pursuing with their dog.
