  1. How Does Birth Control Device Works? Some birth control devices like condoms or diaphragms can be used to prevent the sperm cells from coming in contact with the egg. The next method is using birth control pills which is a birth control method that affects the hormones to ensure there is no ovulation. Different types of birth control methods come with various risks and side effects. Women can choose any of the birth control method depending upon their personal choice and keeping in mind factors like if they want to prevent fertility in the future, go for surgical sterilization which checks birth control permanently. One of the most popular types of the birth control method is by using Copper IUD in India. How Does Birth Control Device Works? The Intrauterine Device is a tiny, flexible and usually, a T-shaped device has to be inserted inside the uterus to prevent the women from getting pregnant. It is one of the most effective ways of birth control, and it can be used for long-term without running any risk of infertility in the future as it is reversible.  The IUDs can be broadly classified into two types Copper IUDs and hormonal IUDs. The copper t intrauterine device has no hormones in it, and the device is wrapped in copper, and it can act as a device to control birth for almost 12 years. The hormonal IUDs has progestin hormone in it which can be used to prevent pregnancy for nearly seven years.  The IUDs prevent pregnancy by altering the movement of the sperm cells a thereby ensuring that they can't make it to the egg cell. In Copper IUDs, the copper acts as a barrier to prevent the sperm from reaching the egg and making contact, thus preventing fertilization. Sperms are not fond of copper which makes it almost impossible for them to reach the egg.  Hormonal UIDs have two ways to prevent pregnancy. They can either thicken the mucus lining of the cervix, thereby trapping the sperm and preventing it from fertilizing the egg. The other way is by stopping the eggs from leaving the ovaries and thus ensuring there are no eggs which can be fertilized.  It is a reversible process, and when you decide to get pregnant, you can ask the doctor to remove it, and it won't have any side effects. Right after the UID is removed, one is capable of getting pregnant.  These are some of the benefits of using IUDs. They can also be used as an emergency birth control and for that, they have to inserted within five days after having unprotected sex. 
