  2. Objectives • Increase awareness of: • College and Workforce Readiness • 21st Century education • Plano ISD’s Future Focused Strategy

College Readiness • SAT and ACT scores far exceeded state and national averages • SAT - District 1156, State 986, National 1007 • ACT – District 25.2, State 20.7, National 21.1 • Graduates attending college (2 or 4 year) • PSHS 97%, PWSH 97%, PESH 85% • 128 students honored as National Merit Semifinalists • Graduates received $38 million in scholarships

  4. College Readiness • Dual Enrollment Courses (through Collin College) • Allows students to get a head start on college with no cost – (helps child and parent) • English and Social Studies courses are offered • Approximately 100-250 students are enrolled per campus

  5. College Readiness • eSchool • Provides credit recovery and credit advancement while preparing online learning in life • 5000 students LY and 37000 over 9 years • Plano ISD has the largest and most successful virtual school with 21 course options

  6. Workforce Readiness • Career and Technical Education (CTE) • Achieve Texas • Texas education initiative • Courses within 16 career clusters • Magnet program study opportunity at Williams

  7. Success • Expanded Student Services to Student “and Family” Services Department • Family Services schools atMeadows, Sigler, and Jackson • Campus-based parent education programs • District-wide Family Literacy Program • Launched University Ready websitehttp://ur.pisd.edu

Success • Continue to receive the highest rating of “superior” for financial integrity from the State of Texas • Voted by Dallas Business Journal as one of the Best Places to Work for the second time! • Opened Employee Child Care Center • Passed $490 million bond for new construction,renovations, and technology • Janet Napoli, literacy specialist at Skaggs, was aFinalist for Texas Teacher of the Year
