  2. MC generators by BES • PHOKHARA in BELLE • The next meeting on October in Beijing

  3. MC Generators by BES-III The BES-III, with All the generators discussed in this working group will play important role in the new BES-III experiment.

  4. KKMC • KKMC is to simulate mu pair production which also measures luminosity. It is also used to simulate inclusive hadronic process in R-value measurement. It is already in the BES-III library.

  5. BabaYaga • BABAYAGA@NLO is used for Bhabha process. The improved version will also be used for photon pair production. These two processes will give the luminosity. The latter is extremely important, since most of the data taking is on top of sharp resonances, so we shall use the photon pairs cross section for the luminosity.

  6. PHOKHARA • With good calorimeter, BES-III will be able to conduct ISR measurement. PHOKHARA is for such MC.

  7. MCGPJ • MCGPJ will be used for exclusive hadronic processes. For example, in the measurement of psi(3770) to vector-pseudoscalar decays, where is significant interference between non-resonance continuum amplitude and the psi(3770) decay amplitude. So the cross section at 3.77 GeV could be smaller than off resonance, as I showed in our 1st meeting.

  8. Generators by BELLE • PHOKHARA has been used by Beijing, Novosibirsk and Illinois groups in ISR measurement. Up to now, three papers have been published. Several more are in progress. • KKMC is used for mu pair simulation, maintained by Dr. K. Inami of Nagoya University.

  9. Generators for Super-KEKB • KEKB will start upgrade from next year. The data taking is scheduled in 2012. With increased luminosity, there is need to have more precise Monte Carlo generators. So the work of the working group should continue.

  10. Next working group meeting this October in Beijing

  11. BES-III will take data from June 23rd. BELLE will start upgrade from 2009. Best time to have our meeting in Beijing.

  12. Fall is the most beautiful season in Beijing. The timing is immediately after the 2008 Summer Olympic Game. Beijing will have a new face.

  13. Meeting place • IHEP main building where condition is pretty much like here at LNF, with all the facilities available (projectors, wireless access of internet by your laptop computer, etc). Coffee could be served either next to the meeting room on 4th floor, or if you all like, there is a very nice café upstairs on 7th floor in a cozy atmosphere. We can reserve it exclusively for our meeting.

  14. Accommodation • Guesthouse inside IHEP, with a restaurant next to it (we shall have our lunches there). There are two beds in each room. Room rate is about 25 euros per day. No additional charge to the second occupant. So bring your wife with you.

  15. More luxury accommodation • If some of you want more comfortable accommodation, there is a 4-star Holiday Inn about one kilometer away from IHEP. The room rate is about 65 euros per night including breakfast for one. Or with a business package at 75 euros per night, breakfast for two are included, as well as access of internet, laundry etc.

  16. For MCGPJ group • For MCGPJ group from Dubna and Novosibirsk, we shall cover the local expenses in Beijing, including the room in IHEP guesthouse and the money for food. Please plan to stay for a week. We shall discuss the generator after the meeting. And you are welcome to bring your wife, with no additional charge on hotel room.

  17. Duration of the meeting • I prefer to have the next meeting longer, how about 3 days from 9th to 11th? • Besides the working group meeting, I plan to arrange seminars and discussions on each MC generator. So I appeal to you to stay longer after the working group meeting. (e.g. on 13th and 14th)

  18. Get to IHEP from airport • From airport to IHEP, taxi costs about 15 euros including the highway toll. We shall send you the card of IHEP Guesthouse which you show to the driver. • By that time, you can ride metro from airport to IHEP. An elevated rapid rail will link airport to the city. You transfer to subway which goes to IHEP. We shall give the detailed instruction on website.

  20. Tours in Beijing • We can arrange tours for your wife, and the first comers to Great Wall, since it is far from the city. The Forbidden City can be reached by subway. The Summer Palace can be reached by bus, or taxi. • We shall see how many people want such tour.

  21. Tours in Beijing • Since most of you have been to Beijing before, I would like to take you to places which are less known. • In the downtown Beijing, there is a chain of beautiful lakes, surrounded by very old residential neighborhood.
