  3. Using Subject Pronouns • *The subject of a sentence tells who is doing the action. • *You often use people’s names as the subject. Ex. Pabloescuchamúsica. / Pablo listens to music. • *You can also use the subject pronoun in place of the name. Ex. Élescuchamúsica. / He listens to music.

  4. Tú, usted, and ustedes • Tú, usted, and ustedes all mean “you”. • Use tú when talking to someone your own age, a sibling, or anyone younger than you. • Use ustedwhen talking to an adult. • Use ustedes when talking directly to more than 1 person or group of people regardless of age or gender.

  5. Nosotros / Nosotras • Use nosotros when you are talking about yourself and a male, yourself and a group of males, or yourself and a group of males and females. (boys will always use nosotros) Ex. Felipe y yo (nosotros) / Carlos, Pablo, Ana y yo (nosotros) • Use nosotras if you are a female and you are talking about yourself and another female or yourself and a group of females. (boys will never use nosotras) Ex. Ana y yo (female) (nosotras)

  6. Ellos/ Ellas • Use ellos to talk about a group of boys or a group of boys and girls regardless of age. Ex. Los chicos (ellos) / Pablo, Paco, y Claudia. (Ellos) • Use ellas to talk about a group of girls regardless of age. Ex. Las chicas (ellas) / Susana y Marta (ellas)
