  12. Step 1: do some general searches to find out more information on your topic

  13. Step 2: read up about your topic

  14. You discover a terrible cancer killed many of them in the 1990s…this special cancer is called DFTD…you want to know what effect this has had on the devils Step 3:brainstorm to determine your focus Cancer You find out that their status is “threatened” because there aren’t many left…you wonder what they are doing about it… threatened Breeding programs You discover there are special breeding programs…these interest you

Step 4: determine the subtopics of your paper Subtopic 2 Subtopic 1 Subtopic 3 Subtopic 4 The basics: an overview of the TD – all the background information needed to understand the topic Past: what happened to threaten the TD in the past (farmers and disease); what the results were for the TD Present: what are the breeding programs, where, what do they do, etc. Future: what does the future hold, what still needs to be done, what can people do, etc.
