  1. Upgrading the skills of the present generation, for a better future! While a segment of young Americans graduate today from high school with excellent skills, there are many who would leave with poor scores in reading, writing and basic math. They may have a college degree but this will only help them to be absorbed as weak candidates. Recently we have come across many articles on the internet and social media space, featuring the need for quality education for American children. Some of us even think that the educational performance of the Americans has been declining, but is it true that we are failing to adapt the new ways of learning or the educational system isn’t evolving? Today in the age of information where education is the currency to communicate, it gets imperative to explore innovative educational methods, as that will help in preparing our future generation. Well, there is no secret sauce or any other recipe that can be given to kids to prepare them for a better future! But parents and teachers can help them develop thinking and implementation skills, from an early age. This can be done by making them do their chores and that is so simple. A small task like this can instill qualities in them for future. Studies have shown that these children are able to collaborate and contribute effectively towards team development, as they have been through situations where they had to complete tasks and at times even had to struggle to find an alternative method.

  2. Forget the traditional ways of education, it has become critical today to focus on process and not just intelligence and acquired skills. Raising kids with a growth mind-set to focus on the process today will plant the seed of productivity for future. Teachers along with the school administration should focus on the learning programs and tools to provide a compelling and competitive learning place for students. Teachers should work closely with the students and teach them study techniques that would help them understand the topics and concepts easily, retain it for longer time and help them prepare for tests too. Including college tours, career presentation , Flash cards and personality development sessions in the course curriculum will boost the lateral thinking ability and innovation skills of the children. Modern world teachers should cultivate a healthy lifestyle in students, guide them to make wise decisions and good choices for their future and refrain from using harmful substances (drugs, alcohol etc.). It is high time for the teachers to join hands with technology, and transform the future generation to a smarter and intelligent being. So what are we waiting for?
