  5. Hydrogen bond (hi-dro-gen) nouna type of bond used to stick to other water molecules. It is easily done, but can easily be broken • The water on the sink is everywhere.

  6. Polarity (poh-lar-i-tee) nounwater molecules have two opposite sides that feel uneven unless they bond with other water molecules. • Water is sticking to itself because it feels unbalanced creating a flood.

  7. Significance of waters specific heat (sig-nif-i-kuh’ns) nounwaters specific heat is really important because it absorbs and releases heat slowly, protects earth’s climate, and protects the marine life. • Water is evaporating from the sinks surface. This can happen when you take a shower

  8. Significance of waters density (den-si-tee) noun & plural, if water is a solid it can float because it has less density, but if its water it has more density. • The object floats because its density is less than water in the sink.

  9. Surface tension (ten-shuh’n) noun, due to bonds holding water molecules together there appears to be an elastic film. • The water in the sink looks like you can stand on it.

  10. Universal solvent (sol-vohnt) noun, is the ability of water to dissolve almost anything. • The water is dissolving the soap on the sink.
