Concept to Launch Until July 2012 the village had never had any on-line presence. • July 2012: Parish Council agreed to explore options to go “on-line”. • September 2012:Community Hub Website Launch • September 2012: Individual contact with all village community activities for buy-in. • October 2012: Individual web pages and content agreed. Concept to Launch • October 2012: Website Training booked for November. • 21 November 2012 am: WORDPRESS Training at Wellingborough Library with Patricia Greaves, Northamptonshire Libraries. • 21 November 2012 pm:Launch of: http://wilbynorthants.wordpress.com Community Website Review Evening 29 May 2013

  6. Promotion Attendance at local events in early December: School Christmas Fayre Village Coffee Morning Cards left in Church Encouraged village groups to promote and add links from their own websites. Community Website Review Evening 29 May 2013

So What Happened? • Wordpress is excellent, professional & easy to use. • 1000 hits in first month & only 3 days since launch with no visits at all. • Now have up to 10 individual visitors per day. Browsing an average of 5 pages each. • Small number of residents have now made at least 1 post each. • 2 serious debates generated re dog fouling and traffic issues. So What Happened? • Parish Council takes feedback and posts all meeting minutes within hours. • Home page promotes village events and used to cascade news. • Borough Councillor has Editor status – can Post on matters impacting Wilby. • Wilby Whispers at a critical stage. • Useful Links provides quick one click reference point. What Could Be Better? • • Very hard to get more people directly involved. • • Need more posters – reluctance/lack of confidence? • • Lack of follow through by key individual supporter at launch. • • Need for more input and involvement to increase and broaden appeal. • • Site activity now plateaued and no youngsters involved.
