From the science book(p.570) • Found almost anywhere • Any river, lake, stream, wetland, and pond is part of the freshwater ecosystem • Sources can vary-melting snow, rain, from a lake, or from another river • Many trees, bushes, plants, and grass grow on the sides • Such trees- cypress, gum, and tamarack • Many animals also exist- algae, dragonflies, mosquitoes, beetles, caddisflies, frogs, toads, turtles, snakes, fish, muskrats, river otters, racoons, ducks, herons, swallows, eagles, and red winged blackbirds
