  2. Overview • To be held 9-11 October 2010 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil • In Conjunction with the Brazillian Congress of Radiology, a conference similar to RSNA • One badge for both conferences, so attendees can float between the two conferences • The DICOM Conference and Workshop will have a dedicated room with seating for 150-200 people • Adapting a program format in line with BCR

  3. Social Program • Welcome reception on October 9th for all • Faculty dinner on October 10th for workshop and invited speakers (does not include paper presenters) • Conference wide social event on October 11th • Afternoon and morning breaks, with extended lunch break for visiting exhibits • Attendees purchase their own lunch, etc.?

  4. Conference Program • Tutorial format still under discussion • May do as a pre-program event on the 9th • May do as a multi-session, multi-day course track as part of BCR’s ‘Refresher Course’ format • Scientific sessions in parallel with BCR’s • One or more “Special Focus Sessions” for the futures discussion in parallel with BCR’s • Providing care to remote rural communities suggested as the topic

  5. Promotion • BCR will be promoting the DICOM 2010 conference in Brazil and South America as part of their own promotion to professional registrants • In parallel, BCR and the planning committee will promote the DICOM 2010 conference by itself to informaticians and the technical community who normally would not attend the Brazilian Congress of Radiology

  6. Logistics • Registration, hotels, etc. to be handled by BCR as part of their normal process • Fees will be set by BCR • Last year’s fee was ~600 BRL, depending on date and membership category (~350 USD) • Under discussion is whether or not informaticians not interested in CME credit would have a different fee schedule from professional registrants • Under discussion is how the DICOM conference recoups expenses (e.g. invited speakers)

  7. See you in Rio!
