  2. Office of Sustainability • Resident Hall Energy Challenges-competition between dorms to reduce their use of utilities • More than 1/3 of dorms have recycling programs in place

Office of Sustainability • Campus Master Plan-highlights 12 areas of sustainability to implement at Texas A&M For example: evaluate implementing additional landscape level water conservation practices, establish and implement a policy and plan for sustainable land, and evaluate and prepare a list of green building practices to be incorporated into building renovations.

  4. Who are they working with? Custodial Services and Utilities and management: • to build a new recycling facility on West Campus • implement more effective recycling practices, such as installing more recycling bins around campus. • hope to begin better recycling awareness at sporting and tailgating events beginning next year.

  5. Howdy! Farm • Student run farm on West Campus • Sell produce to Sbisa and others who buy shares • NEED VOLUNTEERS! Location: Horticulture Rd

  6. Aggie Green Fund • Implement a $3 fee per semester = $300,000!! • Students passed a referendum with 57% supporting it • For more information • greenfund.tamu.edu/ • Abstract deadline: Feb 19 at 5 PM • Proposal application deadline: April 2 at 5 PM

  7. University Dining • Organic & locally grown foods • Recycled oil used to power their delivery truck • Solar panels on Sbisa? • Composting and recycling of waste coming SOON!!!
