  3. 1. Foreword • The ultimate goal of model verification is to improve weather forecasting ability. • Model verification is to amend the error. • This research utilizes the earlier (f97) and new versions (New-RSM) of the nested Regional Spectral Model.

  23. 4. Summary Northeast monsoon period In RSM, the surface pressure, the temperature, the wind and the lower height field and the humidity field results showed that NRSM is better than f97. In MSM, the surface pressure field of the NRSM is closer to the observation data than f97. The temperature of the NRSM dropped abnormally, but f97 have not such phenomenon. 2014/9/22 23

  24. Mei-Yu Season period In RSM, the surface pressure, the temperature, the lower level height field and the humidity field results showed that the NRSM is better than f97. In MSM, the surface pressure field of NRSM is closer to the observation data, and no " temperature dropped abnormally". The results show that the NRSM is better than f97 overall, and it means that the NRSM have a considerable degree of improvement.
