National SASE is launching the Innoservice Design Project for only the NE region • (CMU, PSU, SUNY Binghamton, Cornell, etc.) • The Challenge: • Develop the next great consumer product that improves the lives of Asian consumers or solves a problem unique to the Asian environment. • This project is designed to: • •Provide avenue for students to showcase technical capability • •Enable students to experience the steps needed to deliver a product to market • •Help develop the “soft” skills involved with technical problems Innoservice Project 2012-2013
Each Team Must Contain: - 2-6 Students -Students must be current SASE members -Must attend chapter’s home school - 1-2 Mentors -Can be from academia or working professional Project Benefits • Showcase technical capabilities • Experience product development cycle • Interact with professionals in different areas of product development • Present and receive feedback from senior leadership in major corporations Innoservice Project 2012-2013
What Will Be Required • Product background • Technical aspects • Business model: Commercial/marketing/ • distribution plans • Estimated cost to produce • Prototype ($250 funding will be provided) • 5 min “Elevator Pitch” • Poster Presentation • Project Rewards • – 1st Place: $3000 (or $5000 – they haven’t decided yet) • – 2nd Place: $2000 • – 3rd Place: $1000 • And you will secure yourself a spot to go to the Regional Conference in the Spring!
