Dividing a Fraction by a Fraction. This concept isn’t much different than what you have been doing. Let’s do the following problem and relate it to money ½ ÷ ¼. So it’s like taking a half dollar and splitting it into quarters. ½ ÷ ¼.

  2. This concept isn’t much different than what you have been doing. Let’s do the following problem and relate it to money ½ ÷ ¼ So it’s like taking a half dollar and splitting it into quarters ½ ÷ ¼

  3. How many quarters will be needed to make a half dollar? Another way to solve this problem is to: Take 1/2 and leave it the SAME. SWITCH the division to multiplication FLIP ¼ so it becomes 4/1 Now it looks like this: 1/2 X 4/1 =

  4. Let’s do the following and again use a money comparison ½ ÷ 1/10 ½ ÷ 1/100
