  3. FAQs (1) • Why is this only open to Archers under the age of twenty years of age? This particular talent drive is aimed at Junior Archers who wish to become part of the Performance Academy Programme which is part of our World Class Performance Pathway. However, we have recognised there may be some young Archers between the ages of 18-20 that may also wish to be involve din the Talent Selection process, so for this drive it is open to the under 20’s age group. • Why must Archers be willing to shoot Recurve bows if successful? The drive is aimed at recruiting and developing young archers from across Great Britain towards eventually becoming Olympic Archers. Our World Class Programme is funded by UK Sport to develop Word Class Archers capable of winning Olympic Medals through the Performance Pathway., As Recurve is the discipline shot at the Olympics, Archers being supported by this Programme must develop as Recurve Archers.

  4. FAQ’s (2) • Who will be running the Talent Selection Process? Our Coaches will run the Talent Selection process. There will be input from our multi disciplinary team. It will be managed by the Programme Manager. • What will happen next if I am successful or unsuccessful? All Archers will receive a generic training programme and will the have the opportunity to be registered on our database and have their performance tracked. Successful applicant will be invited back for a second stage when more information will be made available. Eventually, those Archers who are successful may be invited to join a the Archery GB Performance Academy Squad. Those who are unsuccessful will still have their performance tracked and will be free to apply again in the future. • Why is this happening now? • To unearth the most promising Archers in Great Britain • To cascade the programmes and training plans from the World Class Performance Programme and increase the numbers of archers working toward performance benchmarks • To better prepare more athletes for making the transition into the World Class Programme, raising standards and setting expectations • To define our ‘talent pool’ and those who wish to become Olympic Archers • We now have more resources and coaches to assist with this process
