  2. Vision Statement Vision Our vision for American School of Productive CitizensCareer Academy (ASPCCA) is to develop an awareness of our environment, a sense of pride and patriotism through the empowerment of knowledge and hope for the future.

  3. Mission Statement Mission The mission of American School of Productive CitizensCareer Academy (ASPCCA)is to provide a secondary public school option for the families residing within the South Metro County School Districts attendance zone with an academic and career focused curricula leading to higher education and promising occupations focusing on the expanding green industry field.

  4. Technology Vision Statement • Students will be expected to apply the basics in authentic, integrated ways to solve problems, complete projects, and creatively extend their abilities. • To help teachers in grades 9 – 12 identify several higher-order thinking skills and digital citizenship as critical for students to learn effectively for a lifetime and live productively in our emerging global society.

Goals • Goal 1: Improve student academic achievement through the use of technology with a target of fully integrating technology into the academic curriculum. • Goal 2: Ensure that quality teachers, staff, and administrators are involved in ASPCCA educational plan and that they are proficient in the use and integration of technology through Professional Development.

Goals • Goal 3: Ensure that all 9 – 12 grade resources are available for all students (regardless of race, ethnicity, income, geographical location, or disability) to become technologically literate and achieve their academic potential. • Goal 4: Develop a continuous process of evaluation and accountability for the use of Educational Technology as a teaching/learning tool, measurement and analysis tool for student achievement.

Summary of Goals • Understanding and using technology will be an integral part of virtually every aspect of daily life. • It is the ASPCCA responsibility to prepare students for the future. • Every classroom must be equipped with diverse technologies to support teaching and learning. • Every teacher must be knowledgeable and skilled in the use of these technologies in daily instruction. • Technology will support new strategies for teaching and learning by accomplishing the above four goals. www.sun-associates.com

Initiative Description and Rationale • As ASPCCA strives to use technology in daily instruction, students are able to learn by fully integrating technology into the academic curriculum. • Teachers in grades 9 – 12 identify higher-order thinking skills and digital citizenship as critical for students to learn effectively for a lifetime and live productively in our emerging global society.

Hardware, software, and facility resource requirements • Hand held device (ActiVote) for each student. • Promethean Whiteboards are in each classroom. • ActivInspire Professional Edition DVD, ActivHub (with extension cable and holder), Hard carry case. • Building structured with sufficient wiring and wireless input and output source capability.

  13. Itemized budget and rationale • Teachers will receive training throughout the next school year on best practices with the ActivBoards. • A SWOT analysis will be conducted to determine feasibility of incorporating best practices with the ActivBoards.

  14. Evaluation Plan and Timeline Teachers will be given a survey through surveymonkey.com The survey will capture beliefs and values toward ActiVote in relation to instructional effectiveness. (October 2011, December 2012, February 2013)

  15. Evaluation Plan and Timeline Students will be given a survey using ActiVote. Survey questions will be compiled by technology sub-committee and sent to teachers via the share drive. (February 2012 and March 2012).

  16. Cyber Safety and Ethics Cyber Security • Students will be blocked from inappropriate types of emails and web sites. Cyber Safety • Teaching online behaviors that will protect a student’s physical well-being Cyber Ethics • Emphasizes Cyber bullying and other inappropriate online behaviors
