Over two hours, we educated 200 students about microloans and microfinance, raising $50 to support two entrepreneurs via the Kiva platform. By encouraging students to donate, we aim to create a sustainable account for future loans. In just one week, our Kiva account helped entrepreneurs receive $2,368 in loans, significantly contributing to local economies. We assisted Felicia Ackah and Eliza Stivini with their business goals, showcasing how microfinance can empower individuals globally and inspiring students to engage in social entrepreneurship.

Connection We spent 2 hours in the classroom educating students about microloans and microfinance. 200 student contact hours. We raised $50 and gave $25 to two different entrepreneurs. Our project was to create a sustainable account through the Kiva microloan website. We wanted to educate students about microfinance as well as empower them to get involved on a global scale. We encouraged students to donate a dollar to start the high school’s account. It is our hope that this account will be re-loaned to many entrepreneurs through Kiva.
