European ALMA Board Phase 2 Program: Proposal Call and Evaluation Summary

The European ALMA Board convened on November 11, 2002, in Garching to discuss the division of tasks for ALMA Phase 2. A Call for Proposals was issued on August 9, 2002, inviting institutions from all ESO member states and Spain to submit proposals. The board requested firm proposals for 10 Development Work Packages and expressions of interest for 13 Production Work Packages. By October 11, 2002, the board received 12 Development and 15 Production Work Package proposals. Technical evaluations and reviews were held from November 4-7, 2002, with ongoing financial negotiations.

Division of Tasks in Europe • Call for Proposals for ALMA Phase 2 Work Packages for front and back end electronics • CfP issued on 9 August 2002 to at least one institution in all ESO member states and Spain • Firm proposals requested for 10 Development Work Packages and expressions of interest requested for 13 Production Work Packages • Proposals for 12 Development WPs and 15 Production WPs received on 11 October 2002 European ALMA Board
