  2. Why upgrade? • Richer, expanded functionality; opportunity to implement with or post-upgrade • Reduce UM modifications by using PeopleSoft delivered – reduced cost of ownership • Improved look and feel • Vendor support for V8 SP1 ends 8/08 – critical for Payroll, FASF HRMS & SA v9 Upgrade

System-Wide Enhancements Major change examples – shared HRMS/SA: • Person-centric repository of bio/demo data (Person Model) for efficient tracking and reporting • Enhanced navigation and page usability, including Search, Favorites, and Notify • Grid order sort user-controlled and exportable to Excel • XML Publisher – Template-based, streamlined report and forms generator. Allows separation of data extraction from report or form design HRMS & SA v9 Upgrade

HRMS Enhancements Major change examples - HRMS: • Talent/Profile Management – attract, retain and engage employees • Time Reporting – options to pre-populate data on timesheets, display totals and other useful information, improved self-service • Enhanced deferred compensation savings plan management, including s457. HRMS & SA v9 Upgrade

SA Enhancements Major change examples – SA: • Student Center Student Services Center, & Faculty Center • Extensive integration of academic requirements, class search, and enrollment • Expanded student account self-service, including payment plan enrollment, optional charges, and e1098T • Population selection and update (e.g., assign student groups service indicators) HRMS & SA v9 Upgrade

  8. Campus impacts • Ann Arbor—Users of both the Student Administration and the HRMS systems will be impacted. • Flint and Dearborn—Only users of the HRMS system will be impacted. The upgrade will NOT impact users of the Flint and Dearborn Student systems. HRMS & SA v9 Upgrade

  9. Upgrade Timing • Underway now - Working with business offices, advisory groups, and others • January 2008 - Start communicating directly with system users • June 2008 - M-Pathways HRMS & SA Systems v9 Upgrade GO LIVE HRMS & SA v9 Upgrade

  12. Tentative Upgrade Window • Tentative production outage for upgrade (HEPROD): • Thursday, 6/5/08 5PM until Monday, 6/9/08 7AM. • HEODS and U-M Data Warehouse available during outage. HRMS & SA v9 Upgrade

Tentative Upgrade Window • MAIS will execute five test moves (converting and moving V8 data to V9) prior to June 2008 go-live. • Test moves validate data conversion, timing, and tasks needed to implement new version. • More precise times for outage period will be known as we progress with each test move. HRMS & SA v9 Upgrade
