  4. What is a computer? Electric device that helps us everyday. It can store, process and retrieve data. Use for browse internet. Help keep all our accounts. Helps us get our work done. Use to play games.

  7. What is an Application? List types and how they are used. Help completes specific tasks Word processors-help with doing office work Games-time killing apps (Halo II, Diablo) Web browsers-Go on the internet Personal finance-Helps manage your money Gadgets-simple apps like calender or clock

  8. What is “Cloud Computing” and why would you want to use it? Internet server you can save things on Ex-Gmail, Hotmail, google docs excess-able anywhere with Internet help us avoid taking our thumb-drive everywhere

  9. What are Web Apps and how are they used? Applications that are used online They are webs such as face book, twitter word predecessors like google docs

  10. What is a Desktop computer and its basic parts? Hardware-physical part Ex-PC, Monitors or Mouse Software-system that tells hardware what to do

  11. What is a Laptop computer and its basic parts? A portable computer They are less powerful that desktops The parts are the laptop and AC adapter The laptop is powered by battery the Laptop's battery can be charged Hard to upgrade

  12. What is the difference between Desktop and Laptop computers? Desktops can't be unplugged Laptops can be taken from place to place Desktops are too big and not portable desktops are hard to set up The Laptop is less powerful The Laptops are hard to upgrade

  13. What are mobile computers and how are they used? Hand held computer have both neither touch or non-touch screen Used for calling and texting Can be used to play games Some has GPS too

  14. How do you setup a Desktop and a Laptop computer? Setting up a desktop • unpack everything • Set up the desktop in a cool area • connect all the cables Setting up a laptop • Open up the laptop • plug in the AC adaptor

  15. How do you find files on a PC and a Mac? Mac-Use the Finder On the left-hand side of the file screen Windows-Search box In the start button on the south west corner of the screen

  16. What needs to be done to keep a computer healthy? Clean it constantly Guard the computer against virus Keep the area around computer uncluttered Keep a back-up for your computer

  17. How do you create a safe workspace? Adjust your chair until your comfortable Mouse close to key board Make sure computer screen is 20-40 inches away from you Make sure you keep the area uncluttered Take frequent breaks.
