  1. Genuineness Sincerity is first of all the resolve to dedicate to our practice, to practice meditation a little every day in spite of all other duties. Sincerity makes us feel that our spiritual quest is a sacred journey at the very heart of our life. Every day our practice of meditation advises us of this truth, and is itself a further action on that journey. When you state to yourself 'I am too busy to meditate today, or too exhausted, or too lots of other dedications', you have currently deceived yourself, you have currently become the vicim of this incorrect mindset. Even the word 'genuineness' will warn you, safeguard you versus this, and advise you that all of your external life is determined by your own awareness, by your minds clearness, poise, strength, peace-- which eventually only your spiritual progress truly matters. Sincerity will offer you strength, patience and resolve and finally you will succeed; you will not be attached to 'good meditation' or' bad meditation', you just keep moving forward. " Sincerity and spirituality are of vital significance in our day-to-day life. Genuineness wishes to see the Light. Spirituality shows genuineness what the Light is, where the Light is and how the Light can be seen ... Where there is sincerity and chance, development is bound to grow. Every day, every 2nd, we can make progress if we have genuine goal and, at the same time, if we have opportunity. If one is extremely sincere, either today or tomorrow he will reach his Objective." In this age which some call the Kali Yuga-- a long age of spiritual darkness-- any kind of regular spiritual practice is difficult and unlikely to survive without this easy very first secret. Sri Ramakrishna, the terrific spiritual Master from India utilized to state that in this age all we can do is chant the name of God, like a drowning male clinging on to a life raft. He compared the different types of disciples and hunters in a striking analogy with 3 dolls-- one doll is made from salt, among fabric, among stone. If you lower the salt doll into the ocean, (the ocean of ignorance/the world), it will merely liquify; the fabric doll will be filled with worldliness but yet keep a few of it's shape and spirit; the stone doll will remain untouched and the water will simply run off it. Our hope is that we will all become as stone dolls. Sri Ramakrishna (1836-- 1886)Our modern-day world is so intricate and outwardly focused that it consumes us practically entirely-- very few have the strength of the stone doll or have the ability to devote even a little part of each day to meditation or spiritual practice. Sri Chinmoy's recommendations to spiritual candidates, no matter what path they may follow, offer wonderful insights and solutions to the problem of developing a strong spiritual life. Having actually made the long journey to God realisation himself, his mentors like those of all the excellent masters offer a clear and conclusive map of the journey and recognize the crucial steps in navigating our method safely. Genuineness is the first action-- you need to choose that yes, this is something you truly want to do. You have to devote to the practice. This equates to a dedicated time in your every day life and a dedicated area in your house, your room where you have a focal point to practice meditation, prayer, cultivating a silent mind. You have to practice every day and every day your genuineness will be challenged-- other commitments will crowd in and evaluate your resolve. "Every treasure" says a Chinese proverb "is safeguarded by dragons-- that's how you understand it is valuable." The treasure of inner progress is protected by the dragons of physical sleepiness, (rising early to meditate on a cold winter morning!), doubts in the mind (will I lose all my buddies, will I go a little crazy?), a wavering willpower (is this actually worth the effort?), the cynicism of friends, worldly dedications and an army of inner and outer interruptions. So you need some warrior spirit because as the Bhagavad Gita puts it so succinctly, 'the soul is not won by the weakling'. Sistine Chapel ceilingOne of the sub-secrets of genuineness though, is that, like a magnet, sincerity brings in an undetectable Grace. As in the painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel where the hands of guy and God are outstretched towards each other, practically touching, the effort of meditation draws in God's instant attention. This grace is among the fantastic secrets of meditation, the Developer's love for the creation, for genuineness and grace coexist together. Among the all-time fantastic books on meditation is Sri Chinmoy's timeless guide book, Meditation: Guy Perfection in God-Satisfaction. If you immerse yourself in this, practice it's recommendations 10 minutes every day, you will become a stone doll. You only have to think that a person day, exactly when is up to you and your sincerity-- you will be free of suffering, accessory, misery, you will be informed! Begin with sincerity and make a start! Don't wait until tomorrow. You will see for yourself how whatever will all exercise. If you do this one basic thing, make this one right decision, everything else will form and all obstacles will fall away. You have actually started walking along the right road and the unseen grace of the universe will take care of you.
