This initiative focuses on revitalizing the flooded land around Houston's bayous by slowing down water drainage. The aim is to develop areas that can flood with minimal permanent damage and utilize the built environment to facilitate and store runoff. By capturing and managing excess water, we can create vibrant new spaces that serve the community, such as recreational areas and power generation. This approach not only protects the bayous from being overwhelmed but also enhances the quality of life for residents by reimagining water as a valuable amenity.
