  1. Welcome to Barker Road Middle School, Purple Team! Mrs. Roser Social Studies –1st & 6th periods

Who is Mrs. Roser? • This is my 20thyear teaching. • I taught 2nd and 3rd grades for 15 years. • I graduated from St. John Fisher College with a BS in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Education. • After spending 10 years as a mortgage underwriter, I went to Nazareth College for my Masters in Reading and Elementary Education.

  3. I have two sons. Brian graduated from SUNY Oneonta and is a 7th grade social studies teacher in Morris, NY. Jason is a junior at SUNY Oneonta studying to be an elementary teacher (both graduated from Sutherland). My dog Manny is 12 years old and we spend a lot of time at our family camp in the Adirondacks. My husband, Michael, is a Career Firefighter/EMT for the Henrietta Fire District.

  6. 6th Grade Social Studies • Homework is usually given as long term assignments (vocabulary, maps, web quests, projects) • Tests are given after each unit. Each test requires written responses. There is an opportunity to take a retest after some tests with some limitations.

  7. Grading • All students should be actively studying for tests and quizzes moving words speaking answers writing answers • Sign up for a Parent Portal account so you can see grades and comments in Infinite Campus
