  1. Endereçamento IP Dentro de uma rede TCP/IP, cada micro recebe um endereço IP único que o identifica na rede. Um endereço IP é composto de uma sequência de 32 bits, divididos em 4 grupos de 8 bits cada. Cada grupo de 8 bits recebe o nome de octeto. Veja que 8 bits permitem 256 combinações diferentes. Para facilitar a configuração dos endereços, usamos então números de 0 a 255 para representar cada octeto, formando endereços como 220.45.100.222, 131.175.34.7 etc.O endereço IP é dividido em duas partes. A primeira identifica a rede à qual o computador está conectado (pois como já vimos, numa rede TCP/IP podemos ter várias redes interconectadas) e a segunda identifica o computador (chamado de host) dentro da rede.
