  7. Commie Resistance!! • The German Communist Party (KPD) created… • Newspapers • Fliers • Pamphlets • All done using an underground network

  8. Jazz Youth and Swing Youth • In response to attempts to indoctrinate all German teens to the war effort, subcultures rose up across the country!

  9. “Harshest Penalties!!!” • Jazz was strictly forbidden • “Heinrich Himmler, the leader of the SS, suggested that all young people who listened to jazz music should be betean, given the severest of exercise, and then put to hard labor.”
