P 75/day across the board and region-wide wage increase petition filed by the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) for the National Capital Region • Attended the National Advisory Council Meeting of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) on April 14, 2010 and the Consultation Meeting convened by the Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board for the Employers Group on April 19, 2010 • Recommendation: File an Opposition primarily anchored on two (2) grounds: • The mandate of the RTWPBs under RA 6727 (Wage Rationalization Act) is limited to determining and fixing minimum wage rates • Recovery from the global economic crisis is weak and fragile • Public hearing and submission of Position Paper on April 29, 2010. (Wage Order shall be issued 45 days thereafter)
