  1. Surah al Baqarah Ayahs 183 – 188

  2. Ayah 183 O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous .

  3. Wisdom Behind FastingLosing weight?Getting rid of toxins? لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

  4. What is a Fast? • To abstain الصوم الامساك

  5. Benefit Therefore, if a person can abstain from what Allah has made halal for 30 days, then he/she will not have a problem leaving that which He has made Haram 

  6. Ayah 184 [Fasting for] a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then an equal number of days [are to be made up]. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.

  7. فَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُ

  8. وَأَن تَصُومُواْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

  9. Ayah 185 The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.

  11. الْقُرْآنُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِّنَ الْهُدَى وَالْفُرْقَانِ

  12. فَمَن شَهِدَ مِنكُمُ الشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُ “Fast when you see it and break the fast when you see it, and if it is cloudy then reckon the month as thirty.”[Hadith]

  13. “The shar’i evidence indicates that people should not go to great lengths to sight the moon with these instruments; rather it is sufficient to sight it with their eyes. But if a person seeks the moon with them and is certain that he has seen it by means of them after the sun has set, and he is a Muslim of good character, then I do not know of any reason why his sighting of the moon should not be followed, because it is still a visual sighting and is not calculation.” Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘AzeezibnBaaz

  14. وَلِتُكَبِّرُواْ اللَّهَ عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ EidTakbiraat

  15. Du’a • " Rabbi a’inneealaadhikrikawashukrikahusniibaadatik." O' My Rabb, Assist me in remembering you, in thanking you, and worshipping you in the best of manners”

  16. Ayah 186 And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.

  18. Power of Du’a "Nothing increases one's lifespan except good deeds, and nothing repels divine decree except du’a. A person may be deprived ofsustenance due to a sin that he does" (IbnMajah)!

  22. Ayah 187 It has been made permissible for you the night preceding fasting to go to your wives [for sexual relations]. They are clothing for you and you are clothing for them. Allah knows that you used to deceive yourselves, so He accepted your repentance and forgave you. So now, have relations with them and seek that which Allah has decreed for you. And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the sunset. And do not have relations with them as long as you are staying for worship in the mosques. These are the limits [set by] Allah , so do not approach them. Thus does Allah make clear His ordinances to the people that they may become righteous.

  23. هُنَّ لِبَاسٌ لَّكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لِبَاسٌ لَّهُنَّ Comforts you Protects you Close to you Gets you Respect Gets you Praise Covers You Beautifies You Adorns You Saves you Hides Deficiencies You are identified by your clothes

  26. وَكُلُواْ وَاشْرَبُواْ حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ..........

  27. عَاكِفُونَ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ "This leads him to feel contented with Allah instead of the people, which prepares him for being at peace with Him alone on the day of loneliness in the grave, when there is no one else to give comfort, nor anyone to grant solace except Him. So this is the greater goal of Itikaf." Ibn al Qayyim al Jawziyyah

  28. تِلْكَ حُدُودُ اللَّهِ فَلاَ تَقْرَبُوهَا

  29. Ayah 188 And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the rulers in order that [they might aid] you [to] consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin, while you know [it is unlawful].

  30. وَلاَ تَأْكُلُواْ أَمْوَالَكُم بَيْنَكُم بِالْبَاطِلِ Stealing Gambling Bribing False Testimony

  31. But We don’t consume other’s wealth unjustly! Really?
