  2. Friday, November 22, 1963, a program on ABC network was stunned when Don Gardiner broke in with the news that shots had been fired at President John F. Kennedy in Dallas. “We interrupt this program to bring you a special bulletin from ABC Radio. Here is a special bulletin from Dallas, Texas. Three shots were fired at President Kennedy's motorcade today in downtown Dallas, Texas. This is ABC Radio.” It was “the most massive and most concentrated broadcasting coverage in history,” according to the broadcasting magazine.

November 22, 1963 at 2:30 p.m. JFK was shot in front of hundreds of witnesses in Dallas, while riding in a presidential motorcade. • Abraham Zapruder was filming the motorcade with a movie camera, during this video the president was seen waving to the crowd then he was hit by something and brings his hands to his neck, right in front of him. • GovnernorConnally was starting to turn to wave then he was hit as well. • This shooting shocked the nation and many Americans feared that the assassination was part of the greater cold was attack on the United States. • After the killing it was determined that the shots came from the 6th floor of the Book Depository, there where piles of boxes were found stashed around the window creating a “sniper’s nest” with a clear view of the site of the shooting. A rifle was also found that just been fired along with three spend cartridge shells.

Lee Harvey Oswald • Lee Harvey Oswald was a young man who worked at the depository and had been seen on the 6th floor of that building just minutes before the shooting. • He was confronted with the police inside a movie theater, and it was later found that he had just shot a police officer dead that had stopped him on a nearby street. • Oswald was an ex-marine and communist sympathizer. • Evidence towards him was pilling up, but three days after his capture he was transferred to a police van that would take him to the prison when a nightclub owner Jack Ruby shot him dead.
