  3. Influences of Media • Same rate for shows as teenage pregnancies • Shouldn’t be compared to a movie or to bond • Reality that the media is showing young minds

  4. Sexual Content in TV Programs • The first reason that there are rising numbers of teenage pregnancies may be related to the fact that almost every show on television revolves or relates to sex.

  5. Celebrities Promoting Casual Pregnancies • The second reason for the increasing rates of teenage pregnancy may be related to the newsstands of the popular magazines where the A-list celebrities are walking around with their children.

  6. TV Shows Glamorizing Pregnancies • The last reason for high rates of teenage pregnancy may relate to 16 & Pregnant and Secret Life of the American Teenager. These shows both depict high school girls going through pregnancies on their own.

  7. Why This is Happening • The media in our modern society is making teen pregnancy idealistic to young, naive minds. It is doing this through extreme sexual content in movies, young celebrities showing off their pregnancies, and popular television shows promoting teenage motherhood.
