Empowering Community Rehabilitation Workers: Reviving Respect and Dignity!

Mrs. Siphokazi Sompeta from the University of Cape Town presents a session at the 2nd World CBR Congress, highlighting the importance of equipping and strengthening the skills of community rehabilitation workers in working with communities. The introduction of a higher education certificate in inclusive development and disability aims to bridge the gap in health workers' response to broader health needs, including disability. This session unpacks how the certificate course has encouraged and strengthened students in taking responsibility towards their communities.
