  2. WELCOME TO KIPONA 2014 The City of Harrisburg is proud to present KIPONA 2014. GET READY for a celebration of family, fun, food and diversity! What’s New: Location: This year’s Kipona Festival will take place on City Island and Riverfront. Transportation: CAT bus service to and from City Island on Saturday. In addition, FREE bike taxi services will transport guests across the Market Street Walking Bridge. Events: New events such as the Diva’s Concert, Kid’s Port and Imagination Station, Splash Community Mural and the Spoken Word Festival. What Stays: Events: Native American Pow Wow, Chili Cook Off, Canoe Races, Festival of India, Riverfront Food Vendors and Fireworks! Road Closures: Front Street will be closed from Locust Street to Walnut Street on Saturday and Monday. Front Street will be closed from Forester Street to Walnut Street on Sunday for Fireworks. Free Parking: Free parking will be available at the River Street Garage on Saturday and at City Island all three days of the festival. Meters will not be enforced in Harrisburg on Sunday and Monday.
