The stations: What is covered so far – what is missing: Ancient cosmology: Romania The discovery of time: Bulgaria, Israel, Romania Numbers, proportions, and the harmony of the spheres: Austria Ancient Chinese Physics: Korea, Japan, China The world view of Mesoamericans: Mexico, Guatemala Ancient Indian Physics: India The Islamic contribution to medieval physics: Pakistan Traditional African physics: South Africa

  13. The stations: What is covered so far – what is missing: The enigma of the rainbow: Poland Of loadstone and amber Of sailors and scientists: Portugal The scientific revolution of the renaissance: Italy, Austria, Sweden, Netherlands;Missing: Newton From frog’s legs to power plants: Italy, France, Serbia;Missing: Faraday, Maxwell Merging space and time: Italy, Slovenia, Israel Of particles, waves, and entangled states: Austria, USA, Switzerland, Israel

  14. Physics as a cultural heritage A travelling exhibition • Try to get further funding from the EU • Money for overall coordination would be necessary (travel expenses for meetings, overall design , ….) • At least 2 years will be necessary to get all the stations

  15. Suggestions beyond 2005 Physics and Society Forum • Austrian EU Council Presidency • Vienna, early 2006 • Dialogue between physicists and decision-makers

  16. Suggestions beyond 2005 Working Group for the promotion of physics • Members: WYP2005 Coordinators • Purpose: sharing ideas and informations • Internet forum • Meeting every year, starting spring 2006
