  1. Miss Susan’s Fraction Fun Bucks! Classroom Incentive

  2. What are they? • Fraction fun bucks are fake money that you can use to buy things from Miss Susan’s office store. • Fraction fun bucks come in 1/4, 1/3, and 1/2. Later in the year, you might see other fraction fun bucks too.

  3. Why are they in fractions? • Fractions is an important part of math, and it will be good to practice through money!

  4. How can I get one? • Miss Susan can give them to you if you have exceptional behavior or if you’re caught doing something great! – helping out a classmate, participating more than usual, etc. • You can also get a fun buck for mental math or lucky numbers at the end of the class period (but only if you beat Miss Susan on the math scoreboard!) • If you complete all of your homework assignments or do well on your exams, you might also get a fun buck!

  5. What happens if I lose them? • Yikes! If you lose them, Miss Susan can’t give you any that you lost. You have to make sure to keep them in a safe place (For example, inside your wallet, inside your pencil case, in a folder where it won’t fall out, etc.). It’s your responsibility!  Make sure you don’t put them in your pants. They might accidentally get washed away! • You are not allowed to make any copies. Miss Susan will sign each one in Korean, and she will know if you make any copies! If you do, then you will no longer be able to participate in Fraction Fun Bucks. 

  6. Can I use them whenever I want to? • Yes, you can spend them whenever you have enough to buy something or you can save them as long as you like! It’s up to you!

  7. What time is the store open? • The store is open ONLY during BREAK 2 on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday • The store is also open right after school on Tuesday

  8. So, what can I buy with my fraction fun bucks and how much does it cost? • Small candy – 1 fun buck

  9. So, what can I buy with my fraction fun bucks and how much does it cost? • Regular candy – 1 ¼ (or 1.25) fun bucks

  10. So, what can I buy with my fraction fun bucks and how much does it cost? • Jolly Ranchers – 1 ½ ( or 1.5) fun bucks

  11. So, what can I buy with my fraction fun bucks and how much does it cost? • Bigger candy – 1 3/4 (or 1.75) fun bucks

  13. So, what can I buy with my fraction fun bucks and how much does it cost? • Tattoos – 2 ½ (or 2.5) fun bucks
