  2. My name is Eric Gulotty. • Graduated from New York University with a degree in Theatre • Worked for over 20 years in theatre, television, movies, and special events • Came to Taiwan four years ago with my wife and two children • This is my third year at Guangren

  3. Grade 6 Conversation Fall Semester 2010

  4. What are the class goals? • Maximize opportunities for students to speak English with each other • Students will be able to use the sentences and vocabulary in real life situations • Students will find speaking, reading, and writing English to be a positive experience • Students will regularly practice using sentences with some of the common grammar transfer difficulties • Students will practice listening and speaking English using real-life situations and language.

  5. How will I teach the class? • Warm up period where students share with each other to get used to speaking English (5 minutes) • Topic is introduced and discussed (5 minutes) • Specific material is presented (5 minutes) • Games, activities, and role plays to practice (15 minutes) • Students use the language on their own(10 minutes)

  6. What can parents do to help? • Students need to practice English as much as music! • Class attendance and participation are essential • Make English a positive experience • Encourage your child to talk about the books and conversations they study in school • Be supportive when your child is trying to speak English with you
