Status of Regional Standards • CIP-001-2a • FERC Approved on August 2! • Effective: October 1, 2011 • TO and GO must be IN COMPLIANCE on October 1 • Procedures written, approved and disseminated (R1 and R2) • Guidelines provided to operating personnel (R3) • Established FBI contact and developed reporting procedures (R4) • If not in compliance on October 1 – Self Report • Several GO audits are scheduled for 4Q11 • Entities will need to show 10/1/11 compliance regardless when you are audited RSWG August 25, 2011

  3. Status of Regional Standards • IRO-006-TRE • Ended NERC’s 45-day comment period on August 22 • Next: NERC Board of Trustees RSWG August 25, 2011

Status of Regional Standards • BAL-001-TRE • Standard Drafting Team completed work and approved standard for ballot • Posted on Texas RE Standards Tracking Site and TexasRE.org • RSC approved for ballot on August 5 • Ballot Pool open for 30 days: August 9 – September 8, 2011 • Ballot will be open for 15 days after that: September 9 – September 23 • Technical Workshop held on August 24 • Texas RE Board Presentation – September 27 • Board approval in October RSWG August 25, 2011

Status of Regional Standards • SAR-002 – UFLS • Drafting team met on August 22 and voted to recommend withdrawing SAR-002 and disbanding the standard drafting team. • PRC-006-1 (UFLS) filed at FERC in March 2011 • June letter from NERC management • Superseded 2007 letter that suggested Regions develop UFLS standards • Recognizes progress of NERC standards • Gives Region discretion to develop regional standards • This recommendation will be presented to the RSC for approval at an upcoming meeting. RSWG August 25, 2011
