  1. CRU Weekly Meeting Erno DAVID, Tivadar KISSWigner Research Center for Physics (HU) 28 October, 2015

  2. Arria 10 Roadmap • Arria 10 GX FPGA Development Kit (for ALICE users) (from end of 2015): • https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/dev-kits/altera/kit-a10-gx-fpga.html • 10AX115S4F45E3SGE3 or 10AX115S3F45E2SGE3 • possible usage (CRU team) – 10G PON, GBT, PCIe firmware development, CRU prototype • possible usage (detector teams) – mini CRU for FE testing (max 4 GBT link, PCIe) • 4500 CHF • Prototype PCIe40, 1 pc, for board testing at CRU team (from January 2015): • 10AX115S4F45E3SGE3 • possible usage – PCIe40 specific measurements (PON, GBT clock distribution, PCIe throughput) • Final PCIe40 (for ALICE users) (from April 2016): • 10AX115S4F45I3SG • possible usage – developing the final CRU firmware at full speed • min setup 12 TX + 12 RX = ~ 9000 CHF (+ ASUS server 4000 CHF). • max setup 48 TX + 48 RX = ~ 12 000 CHF (+ ASUS server 4000 CHF) 2

  3. CRU Git Repository Status • Current Git Strategy: • Include the detector specific code also in the central CRU git repository • Larger initial setup cost, but we expect more manageable code base in the long run • Possible Git Services: • https://git.cern.ch/ - the “older” CERN git service (used by RCU2, LHCb, …) • https://gitlab.cern.ch/ - the recommended service by CERN IT Department for new projects • https://github.com/ - O2 is hosted there • We started to evaluate CERN GitLab • https://gitlab.cern.ch/groups/alice-cru • Available for personal and group usage • Please check your GitLab access (it is available for every CERN user) 3

  4. CRU TWiki Status • CRU TWiki page: • https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/ALICE/CRU • Content: • guidelines • our progress so far • Expected new content: • information about the Arria 10 devkits • CRU git details • Stay tuned • Contribute freely 4
