  2. Type of disease This foot infection is caused by the fungus Dermatophytes. This fungus is found near warm moist environments like pools and the sea. If infected continues to grow in damp moist area of the foot. Dermotophytes

  3. Symptoms • Redness in skin • Itchy and flaky skin • Sometimes blisters • Toenail thick and dull • Unpleasant smell • Not always athlete’s foot

  4. Treatment • Anti fungal creams and powders • Keep feet clean and dry • Dead skin removed with brush

  5. Typical length of time for the disease If you have proper medical treatment it can go away in a couple weeks or months. You can get Athletes Foot for many returning years even after treatment.
