  2. CommunicationWhy is it so important? • Can change the outcome or outlook of any given project • Can make or break the project • Can cause animosity and a negative workplace • Can mean the loss of a project, client, leadership or even your job

Here at Laura’s Marketing Firm we want to convey respect for each other even through our body language • Good • Smiling • Direct eye contact • Good posture • Head nods that you are listening • Wave at each other while passing • Or stop and shake hands • Pat on the shoulder • High five • Bad • Frowning • Rolling eyes • Slouching • Looking away • Avoiding • Sighing like at a meeting • Fidgeting at meeting • Head resting on fist

  5. Why is this so important? Because non-verbal communication speaks LOUDLY!

What does it say you ask? • Smiling: your happy to be there, to participate, to help, to see them • Eye contact: your listening, paying attention, truthfulness, respect • Good posture: Confidence, effort • Head nods: You hear them, following along • Waves, handshakes, pats on shoulder: you acknowledge them, respect and appreciate them • High five: Good job! • Frowning: you are mean, sad, board, don’t like them, uninterested • Rolling eyes: disrespectful, conceited, not taking seriously • Slouching: lack of confidence, interest • Looking away: deceit, lack of focus • Avoiding: not appreciating, concealing • Sighing or fidgeting: disrespect

  8. Or it can cause conflict in the workplace It can slow down progress not only for the project your working on but also in your career It can give off the wrong impression Send the wrong message Keep you from promotion Cause disagreements or confusion
