  1. Ready,set…MATH! Presented By: Michael L., Desiree` W., Aiko T., Kristine B. Geometry HP- 5th Period Teacher: Mrs. Decker room 70 Chapter 10: Gr. #2

  2. Introductionfor theStudents. • As a group, we will attempt to instill knowledge to our fellow students so that they gain something positive from our topic as well as our game. We hope that from learning and exploring polygons and area, that each person will have a perspective that is open and free after our presentation on math and geometry. To our conclusion, we want each student to have FUN yet absorb data to utilize this information later in your life.

  3. RulesofReady, set… MATH! • Each student will be counted off and be numbered as the numeral 1 or 2. Please make sure each person remembers their number! • Thus, whichever number you are chosen for, that is your team number, and the class will be split into 2 separate units to play the math game. • The game will then begin and each team has approximately 1 minute for each question given. IF the team cannot answer under the time limit, the team that has answered the question incorrectly will be docked down for a penalty of –10 points. • To enhance student involvement for the game, 2 different students from each team will go up for a turn for each Q and cooperate with one another to find solution to the problem. Students go up for only 1 TURN to answer a single Q unless all students go for a turn and the process will repeat itself until time is allotted or sudden death occurs. Students not playing for their respective team or overuse of student play result in –20 points penalty.

  4. RulesofReady, set … MATH! • Each particular question counts for a particular amount of points, varying from 40-400 points. As each team progresses through questions, the problems get more difficult, so make sure you answer the initial Q’s to get extra points. • This means that there are 10 questions for each team and calculators are ONLY used after the 5th question. Cheating, poor behavior, or shouting answers out for their respective team results in –20 points penalty. • If both teams are tied after 10 sets of Q’s, there will be a sudden death and 1 Q will be given to each team. If one or both team gets it correct, they/both win; and if both don’t get it correct, it will be a DRAW. But, if time exceeds and 10 Q’s are not given, the team with the most amount of points on the given moment WINS!
