  1. Space Project By: Jonah Gier

  2. Our solar system consists of eight planets : Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. All of them orbit the sun.

  3. Inner Planets Mercury is the closest Planet to the sun!! Earth is the only Planet in our solar System that supports Life today. Mars has the Tallest mountain/ Volcano in the entire solar system. It is Named…. Olympus Mons. Venus is the hottest Planet in the Solar system because of Its dense clouds letting In heat but letting no heat out!!

  4. Jupiter is the LARGEST planet in our solar system. It also has a huge red spot called The Great Red Spot. It is a storm that has raged for hundreds of years!!!! Saturn is the second largest planet in our solar system. It has magnificent rings that stretch 175,000 miles!!! Uranus is the 8th planet from the sun. It is on its side, it is the coldest planet, and it has rings!! Neptune is named after the Roman God of the sea. It has the strongest winds in the solar system which can reach up to 2,100 miles per hour. It is the furthest planet from the sun!!

  5. Earth’s Features Earth’s Surface is varied depending on where you are, For example: If you are near the Himalaya Mountain Range, the surface would be very bumpy, and steep. In Kansas although the ground is very flat. So flat that you would get so bored looking at it that you would rather hit yourself in the head with a crowbar than take one more LOOK at the darn place.

  6. Earth’s Features (continued) Two other places on earth that are very interesting are the Great Barrier Reef, and Mount Saint Helens. The Great Barrier Reef is of the coast of Australia and is the Wolds largest reef. Mount Saint Helens is located in Washington U.S.A and blew its top off.

  7. Mars’ Features Mars’ surface is very rocky ,bumpy, with craters. There are traces of like including the material that all living creatures are made of…… carbon. They did NOT find biological carbon, but they found organic carbon. They also found frozen rivers, lakes, and streams. Like earth Mars has continents and oceans. The one ocean on mars is named De La Rue, and the continents are named Dawes, Madler, Secci, and Hershel.

  8. Mars’ Features (Continued) One of Mars’ most famous land features is a mountain/volcano called Olympus Mons. It is very tall and wide. How wide and tall is it you ask? Let me just say this... It is wider than the Hawaii Islands lined up including the oceans in between them, and taller than TWO Mount Everests stacked on top of each other.

  9. Curiosity Curiosity was launched to Mars on Cape Canaveral November 26th ,2011. It finally made it to Mars in Gale Crater on August 6th ,2012. Curiosity weighs about 400 pounds. Curiosity also has a alien protecting feature on it. It has a laser that is capable of vaporizing rocks, gravel, and possibly aliens up to 23 feet away.

  10. Earth and Mars are ALIKE?! Yes as a matter of fact Earth are alike. They are both planets, they both orbit the sun, they both are inner planets, they both have continents and oceans, they both have supported life, they both have a atmosphere, they both have solid ground that you can walk on, and they both have ice caps and frozen lakes, streams, and rivers.

  11. How Earth and Mars are different Earth is larger than Mars. Mars is colder than Earth. Mars if farther away from the sun than Earth. The Earth is supporting life currently, Mars is not. Mars is Warmer than Earth. Earth has trees. You can live on Earth without an oxygen tank.

  12. What I HAVE LEARNED I have learned that Uranus is on its side. That Olympus Mons is taller than two Everests.
