  4. Electrical Engineering • IEEE 9th Technical Exchange Meeting held 16th –17th April, 2002. • Dr. Israr Shaikh selected as Editor in Chief for IEEE J. Communications. • EE Club organized Ibtikar Competition.

  5. Mechanical Engineering • Dr. Ibrahim Dincer one of the ME Department faculty has become as: • An Editor-in-Chief of two international journals • A Regional Editor of three international journals

  6. Mechanical Engineering • Dr. Hasan Badr one of the ME Department faculty has become as Chief Editor of AJSE Special Issue on "Heat and Fluid Flow to be published in December 2002.

  7. Petroleum Engineering • Celebrating PETE Endowment Chair titled "Water Flooding and Improved Oil Recovery” Funded by ARAMCO • Revised B.S. Program both in Petroleum Engineering and Applied Petroleum Engineering approved by the University Board.

  8. Two students presented their technical papers at the European Student Paper Contest, 2001 and were awarded 3rd and 4th prizes. Petroleum Engineering
