Conflicts • Our conflict is happening all around the world • People all around the world are dying from loss of water or different types of water diseases. • 3.575 people die each year from water related diseases. • More people die from water disease than any war with guns. Ground water is contaminated highly.

  3. conflicts • The people who are most affected by this conflict are people in Africa and lower Asia. • Every day more than 4400 children die around the world under the age of 5 from loss of fresh water.

  4. Human health • 1 in 6 people worldwide don’t have access to fresh drinking water. • In 2015 there is a predicament that 77% of the world will have sanitation(sewer systems). • every 20 seconds a child dies from a water related sickness.

  5. Human health • The majority of illnesses are caused by sewage in the water. • Most of the world cant take a hot shower, get clean water from the tap and use a flushable toilet. • Lack of sanitation is the worlds leading cause of infection.

  6. Water management • Women around the world spend 200 million hours a day collecting water. • This is equivalent to building 28 empire state buildings a day. • 1/10 of the global disease burden can be prevented by improving our water supply. • Only 10% of waste water is fully treated.

Solutions • We can use desalination plants to filter water to make it safe drinking water. • Uses a lot of resources such as power and money. • Desalination plants lack in productivity though. • Desalination plants lower the salinity level of salt water. • Send water from Canada to places in Asia and Africa using planes. • Uses a lot of fuel which causes pollution. • Glacier water is safer drinking water than ground water in Africa. • Use less water at home so there is more for the world. • Difficult to adapt to using less water. • We could dig a trench or canyon and fill it with fresh water.
