Next to the key are two green LEDs that indicate whether floor or auto-relay has been selected. • 2Loudspeaker The loudspeaker is only active when the microphones of all interpreter desks in the same booth are off. • 3Loudspeaker volume control • 4Headphones volume control • 5Bass control of the headphones. • 6Treble control of the headphones.   3. 10 7 8 9 Interpreter Desk Incoming part • 7Beep A key to toggle on and off audio beeps. This function is intended for blind interpreters. • 8Select knob A rotary push button to program and operate the desk. • 9LCD Display A 264x32 pixel graphic LCD display is used as an interactive display to program and operate the desk. • 10Five Pre select Keys For quick access to pre selected incoming channels.   4. 12 11 13 14 15 Interpreter Desk Outgoing part • 11 LCD Display Outgoing channels and speech time indication. • 12 Microphone connector for connecting a pluggable microphone of DCN type. • 13 Output selection Two keys to select the output. Each output has an Engaged LED to indicate which channel is engaged. • 14 Micro key to toggle between microphone on and microphone off. If the microphone is on, a red LED ring around the key lights up. If all microphones in the booth are off, a green LED ring around the key lights up. • 15 Mute key to mute the microphone as long as it is pressed. I&U Instructions DCNNG SA PO IN

  5. 18 19 20 Interpreter Desk Outgoing part 16 17 • 16 Telephone call indicator A yellow LED that indicates incoming phone calls from an external telephone system. • 17 Intercom call indicator A yellow LED that indicates incoming external and internal intercom calls. • 18 Message button Opens text messages that are sent to the interpreter desk. When the interpreter desk receives a message, the yellow LED adjacent to the message button blinks. • 19 Call button (Intercom call to operator) Opens an intercom channel to the operator. • 20 Chair button (Intercom call chairman) Opens an intercom channel to the Chairman.   6. 21 22 Interpreter Desk Outgoing part • 21 Slowly button (Speak slowly) Key to activate an external indicator via a Data Distribution Board with address 253 to request the current speaker to speak slower. • 22 Help button (silent request to help) signaling Key to activate an external indicator via a Data Distribution Board with address 254-255 to request for help.   7. Push on Slow button DDB used for speak slowly signaling. Booth and desk # not important. The first activated Slow action activates the first bit DOO. When more Slow actions are activated at the same time more bits are activated. (max. 8) I&U Instructions DCNNG SA PO IN

  8. Push on Help button Booth 3 desk # DDB used for Help signaling. Desk # not important. The first activated Help action within the booth activates the corresponding bit. I&U Instructions DCNNG SA PO IN

  9. 24 23 22 Interpreter Desk side view • 22 Headphones socket (for 6.3 mm jack) Intended for connecting stereo headphones. • 23 Headset socket A 5 pole 180 degrees DIN socket intended for IEC 268-11 compliant headsets. • 24 Headphones socket (for 3.5 mm jack) Intended for connecting stereo headphones.   10. 25 26 27 Interpreter Desk bottom view • 25DCN cable 2 m long cable with a male connector. • 26External devices An RJ45 socket to connect a booth-on-air indication and to connect to devices that can activate the telephone and intercom indicators on the desk. • 27DCN socket A female socket to loop-through.   11. 29 28 Interpreter Desk bottom view • 28De-init A recessed micro switch to reset the address of the unit. • 29Microphone volume A recessed potentiometer to adjust the volume of the microphone from -2 dB to 2 dB. • The potentiometer adjusts the volumes of both the microphone connected to the desk and the microphone of the headset.
