  2. Paget’s Disease • Paget’s disease is a disorder of the normal bone remodeling process • Signs and symptoms: bone pain, headaches, hip pain, pressure on the nerves

  3. Osteomalacia • Osteomalacia is a disease that weakens the bones and make them easier to break • Signs and symptoms: weak bones, bone pain, muscle weakness, hypocalcaemia

  4. Osteomyelitis • Osteomyelitis is a bone infection caused by bacteria and other germs • Signs and symptoms: bone pain, fever, chills, excessive sweating

  5. Osteopenia • Bone condition where one loses bone density which leads to bone weakening and increased risk of fracture • Signs and symptoms: bone fragility but no painful symptoms

  6. Rheumatoid Arthritis • A type of arthritis that leads to inflammation of the joints and surrounding tissues • Signs and Symptoms: morning stiffness, chest pain, mouth and eyes are dried out

  7. E Wing Sarcoma • Malignant tumor especially of a long bone • Signs and symptoms: pain, swelling, fever, bumps that won’t go away quickly

  8. Poliomyelitis • Inflammation of the motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord • Signs and symptoms: headache, red throat, slight fever, abnormal reflexes, stiff neck

  9. Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis • Separation of the ball of the hip joint from the thigh bone • Signs and symptoms: difficulty walking, knee pain, hip pain, outward turning leg

  10. Osteonecrosis • Destruction of and death of bone tissue • Signs and symptoms: pain in joint, limited range in motion, groin pain, limp

  11. Leukemia • Cancer of the blood that result in high numbers of white blood cells in the bone marrow • Signs and symptoms: fever, tiredness, feeling ill, weight loss

  12. Osteo-genesis Imperfecta • Condition causing really fragile bones • Signs and symptoms: bone fragility, early hearing loss, spine curves, teeth and jaw problems

  13. Osgood Shlatter Disease • Pain in the knee • Signs and symptoms: tight hamstrings, limping, area around knee is swollen

  14. Talipes Equinouarus • Congenital deformity of the foot • Signs and symptoms: foot will turn inward and outward at birth, toes are pointed downward, affected foot or leg is smaller

  15. Coxa Vera • Deformity of the hip • Signs and symptoms: stiffness, pain, difference in leg length, limp, difficulty walking

  16. Spina Bifida • Neural tube defect in which part of the spinal cord protrudes through the spinal column • Signs and symptoms: dimples, birthmarks or hairy patch on back and swelling of spine or nerve damage

  17. Calve Perthes Disease • Affects the hip area where the thigh bone and pelvis meet and commonly effects young boys • Signs and Symptoms: limping, pain, or stiffness in hip, limited range of motion in the hip joint

  18. Osteochondritis Dissecans • Joint condition when a piece of cartilage comes loose from the end of the bone and mostly occurs in young men • Signs and symptoms: pain, joint popping and locking, joint weakness, decrease range in motion, swelling and tenderness
