  3. What is something that we replace in school?Have you ever replaced your dull pencil for a sharpened pencil?What do we do when we replace something?

  4. A pronoun replaces a specific noun. For example: Linda is home. She is home.The pronounshe, replaced the noun Linda.Which pronoun replaced Linda?

  5. When you replace a noun in the subject, you use the pronounshe, she, it, we, and they.He replaces a boy or man.She replaces a girl or woman.It replaces a thing or animal.They replaces two or more people or things.

  6. These are some examples of how pronouns replace nouns: • Jenna is going to college. She is going to college. • Paul borrowed a book. He borrowed a book. • The bird flew across the sky. It flew across the sky. • The teddy bear was on the shelf. It was on the shelf. • My mom and I went to the market. We went to the market. • The boys ran down the stairs. They ran down the stairs.

When you want to replace a noun with a pronoun, do the following steps: • Read the sentence and find the noun. • Underline the noun. • Think about which pronoun could replace the noun: • He replaces a boy or man. • She replaces a girl or woman. • It replaces a thing or animal. • They replaces a two or more people or things. • Replace the noun with a pronoun.
