  4. NINTH GRADE TEAM CONCEPT Mission Statement THE NINTH GRADE TEAM, ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE A FOUNDATION OF SUPPORT FOR ALL NINTH GRADERS, IS DEDICATED TO CREATING A PROGRAM WHERE ALL STUDENTS WILL LEARN THE NECESSARY SKILLS TO MAKE A SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION TO HIGH SCHOOL.

  11. Class of 2014 and Beyond Social Studies • 1 credit in U.S. History • 1 credit in American Government ( Government and Politics AP ) • 1 credit in Modern WorldHistory Science • 1 credit in Biology • 2 credits in any Lab Science

  20. Course Selection Process Teacher makes course recommendation Student take course request form home Parent reviews, signs, and returns Middle school counselor reviews and sends to high school

  21. Parent Role 1. Talk with your child about goals for the next four years. 2. Review course recommendations and make the best decision for your child. 3. Encourage your child to take the most rigorous courses while enjoying other aspects of high school.

  22. The High School Schedule • Each student takes seven courses per year. • Five 50-minute everyday classes. • One 85- minute every other day class during period 4.
