  3. 4 credits English • 4 credits math • Algebra 1 or Algebra 1A/1B • Geometry • 3 credits science • Biology • 3 credits social studies • World History • US History • Economics with Financial Lit • US Government • 1 credit Fine/Performing or Practical Art • 1 credit HOPE (not needed for 18 credit option) • 8 electives • 1 course must be through online learning (not needed for 18 credit option) Graduation Requirements 2011-2012 & 2012-2013 cohort • Assessments • Pass 10th grade FCAT Reading • Pass Algebra 1 EOC • If student is taking a course tied to an EOC, student must take the EOC exam, even if the cohort is not required to pass the exam for graduation. • The following courses have a state EOC that will count as 30% of the final grade: • Algebra 1 • Geometry • Biology • US History • Algebra 2 (if enrolled) GPA and Credits • 2.0 minimum unweighted GPA • 24 credits (unless under 18 credit option)

  4. For both 24 credit and 18 credit options • Meet graduation requirements of cohort group AND: • Earn 1 credit of Algebra 2 • Earn 1 credit in Statistics, Trigonometry/Analytical Geometry, or Calculus • Earn 1 credit in Chemistry or Physics • Earn 1 credit in a course equally rigorous to Chemistry or Physics • AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Environmental, Anatomy/Physiology Honors • Earn 1 credit in AP, IB or college DE course OR pass an approved industry certification exam • Earn 2 credits in the same foreign language • Pass the following EOC exams, as determined by FLDOE: • Biology and US History Standard Diploma Scholar designation

For both 24 credit and 18 credit options • Attain one or more industry certifications • Eligible programs at ERHS: • Allied Health Assisting • Applied Cybersecurity • Automotive, Collision & Repair • Business Supervision and Management • Certified Nursing Assistant • Culinary Arts • Early Childhood Education • International Business • Agritechnology • Marketing • Pathways to Engineering • Television Production Standard Diploma Merit designation

State Colleges and Technical Schools • Apply in late spring or summer • Final transcript (available in late June) • Four-year college or university: • Early admissions (@Nov 1st) and rolling admissions • No decision until application package is complete: application, transcript, test scores, application fee, essay or any other documentation • Senior schedule changes and college admissions College admissions

Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) • Apply after January 1st of your senior year at fafsa.ed.gov • Based on parent/guardian income taxes • Used by all schools to determine additional financial aid • Florida Financial Aid • Apply after December 1st of your senior year at http://www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/ • Must have your SSN or TIN number on file at ERHS • Includes Bright Futures and other Florida scholarships • Used by Florida schools to determine additional financial aid • All students should apply whether they are planning to remain in Florida for college or not • East Ridge High School website • National scholarships, local scholarships Scholarships & Financial Aid

  9. Help your student in choosing a career. Provides assessments to discover interests and skills your child needs in order to find the right career. Investigate Florida colleges and degrees. Find out what different programs are offered at different Florida institutions, so if you’re looking for colleges that offer a certain degree, the search will show all the schools that offer that particular program. Apply online for admissions and financial aid. Enables your child to apply online to multiple Florida colleges by entering personal information just once. How to Check your Bright futures eligibility www.flvc.org *must have SSN in our system *use your SSN followed by an “X” for your student ID

College admission and Prep Testing • ACT • www.actstudent.org • 5 sections • English • Reading • Math • Science • Writing • $38 – No Writing • 54.50 – Plus Writing • SAT • www.collegeboard.com • 3 sections • Verbal • Mathematics • Writing • $52.50 • School day testing for all 11th graders on February 25 at no cost • PSAT • Wed., Oct. 15th • All 9th-11th graders • No fee

  11. Lake Technical Center • Upon completion of graduation requirements for most programs • Usually during 12th grade • TABE assessment at LTC • Lake Sumter State College • 11th and 12th grade • 2 courses or 8 semester hours • 3.0 minimum weighted GPA (maintained during dual enrollment and with 2.0 minimum college GPA) • College entrance score through PERT, ACT or SAT • Next PERT assessment: October 30th; must be registered by October 24th Dual enrollment – See your counselor

  12. Students have access to a counselor during lunches on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. • Schedule appointments • Pick up ACT/SAT waivers • Ask questions • Discuss concerns or ideas Guidance Express

  13. Every Monday and Thursday Until 3:30 PM Room 4-209 Student sign in and out of the tutoring and updates are sent to the teacher of the subject area the student receives tutoring in National Honor Society Tutoring
