  1. Drunk Driving Raul Reyes English III 3rd Period

  2. Introduction • This presentation’s goal is to inform about the dangers and the results of driving after drinking alcohol. • These real cases will show the reality that those who drink and drive will mostly face when they cause terrible accidents.

  3. Death story • A vehicle accident occurred at Pomona, California. The accident was related to alcohol use and the guilty person killed 6 people. It is said that the accident was 100 percent preventable.

  4. Jail Charges • Adrian Ofarril of Newark killed Danielle Daszczyszak in a crash in New Jersey because of drunk driving. The charges for Ofarril were DWI, Motor vehicle and driving with suspended license • DWI mostly means Driving while intoxicated. Punishments may vary between the severity of the violation and the number of times that the person has done the same crime.

  5. Families Affected by drunk driving • A very good example of this would be the accident that Sarah Knakal caused while being intoxicated with her 3 children in the car. She was charged with DWI and with additional charges for having 3 kids in her car. • Even people can harm their own family when it comes to drunk driving, because no one is safe of the consequences that this

Groups against Drunk Driving • As a mostly expected result, many groups of mothers formed to fight against this type of action that kills many teenagers and many other people, but mainly teenagers. • A good example of a great group is the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Group (MADD). They are mothers that desire to stop drunk driving, support the victims of the violent action and prevent teenagers from drinking.

  7. Common Problem • In South Korea drunk driving crimes are viewed as very bad crimes and most people usually get arrested two or three times for the same crime. • In Japan almost 76.8 percent of all people have a history related to drunk driving accidents. • In United States 16, 694 deaths were related to the use of alcohol before driving.

  8. Solutions • Many actions have been made by the police to decrease the number of crimes related with Drunk Driving. • Examples of these actions would be license revocation, license suspension and court-ordered alcoholism rehabilitation. • New methods have been created to increase the reality of how a drunk person would feel when driving.

  9. Results • Many of the methods that take extreme or real actions like the drunk driving simulator helps to educate normal driers and even alcoholic drivers to see what alcohol can cause to them. • One example of the dangers of drunk driving is Jacqueline Saburido who suffered an accident caused by another young driver who was drunk.
