  2. The Track • Our current track is about a 300 meter 2 lane track, 661.5 ft. long and 200 ft. wide • The new track would be 8 lanes 400 ft. and each lane would be about 4 ft. wide

  3. Property • If James Person doesn’t want to sell we would have to use eminent domain to obtain the land to the south of the school property otherwise we won’t have enough land to complete the track

  4. Eminent Domain • Eminent domain is the power to take private property for public use • A school, Beaverton School District, has used eminent domain before to obtain the land they needed to expand • The owner would be approached about the selling the land • If the owner doesn’t want to sell then the process of eminent domain would be initiated

  5. Funding • The equipment alone would be about $1720.94 and the track would be about $250,000 all together its about $251,720.94. We would also have to level out the land, and the soil would be $100 per truck full • There are a few grants we could use to help fund the track such as: Baseball Tomorrow Fund, NFL Grass root Program, Charlotte Martin Foundation, and Keep Gym in School Grant. We could also have bake sales, car washes, and other fundraisers.
